The study has reported a brand-new cryopreservation technology for brain organoids called MEDY. During the freezing process, MEDY can preserve the complex structure and functional activity of brain organoids as well as the pathological characteristics of human brain tissue. MEDY can store various neural organoids and living brain tissues on a large scale and reliably in the future, significantly reducing the preparation time and cost of neural organoids, and promoting the wide application of brain organoids in basic research, medical applications and drug screening.
