The laboratory employs various technical approaches, including intrinsic signal optical imaging, two-photon calcium imaging, electrophysiology, morphology, behavioral studies, and artificial neural network models, to investigate the functional architecture of the cerebral cortex and the processing mechanisms of sensory information. Recent research focuses include:
1. Cortical functional architecture under normal and pathological conditions
2. Spontaneous activity and mesoscale functional connectivity in the cerebral cortex
3. Parallel processing and integration mechanisms of visual information
4. Deep learning convolutional neural network models of neurons in the visual cortex
